About NayahLabs
Stories that see you. Stories that celebrate you. Stories that remind you — your crown is always shining.
How It Started
NayahLabs was born out of a simple, powerful question from a 6-year-old: “Why don’t the kids in books look like me?”
We are a family studio — co-created with our very own little “creative consultant” — dedicated to making joyful, beautiful books that celebrate Black children exactly as they are: brilliant, brave, and magnificent.
Our Mission
Every child deserves to open a book and see themselves as the hero. At NayahLabs, we create stories where Black girls and boys with dark skin are the stars — not sidekicks, not exceptions. The heroes. Always.
- We celebrate natural hair in all its forms — braids, twists, puffs, coils, and locs
- We honor African and Caribbean cultural identity with warmth and pride
- We tell stories of resilience, courage, and Black joy
- We make learning fun with creative, inclusive activity materials
Real Moments, Real Magic
NayahLabs is for every family that wants their child to grow up knowing: you are beautiful, you are powerful, and your crown never needs an apology.
